Cartridge or Sand Filter?
Cartridge filters use a pleated filter cartridge to remove fine particles from your swimming pool. Water is pushed through the pleats before going back to your pool. Cartridge filters trap 5-25 micron of fine particles which makes it a great filtering machine!
Sand filters are filled with silica sand to trap dirt and debris as water rushes through the sand, it is then sucked up by laterls and flows back to your swimming pool. Sand filters filter particles 20-40 microns in size.
