What chlorine do I need for my hot tub?

Ah, hot tub owners! We know you're people who love to soak in your tub. But, with great hot tubbing comes great responsibility. You have to keep it squeaky clean and safe to be in! And that means you're on a hunt for the perfect sanitizer. But which type of chlorine will do the trick?

There are a few different types of chlorine you can use for hot tubs:

  • Granular chlorine: granular chlorine is a fast-acting form of chlorine that dissolves quickly in water. On the other hand
  • Chlorine tablets: chlorine tablets are slow-dissolving and provide a steady dose of chlorine over time.  These tablets should be placed in a floater!
  • Non-chlorine sanitizers: This is another solution where a mineral purifier or bromine sanitizer to shock your hot tub.

When it comes to choosing between granular chlorine, chlorine tablets, or a non-chlorine sanitizer, it ultimately depends on your personal preference and also what your water needs.  If you prefer a more hands-on approach to maintaining your hot tub, granular chlorine or bromine may be the way to go. However, if you're looking for a more set-it-and-forget-it approach, chlorine tablets or a mineral system may be a better fit.

No matter which type of chlorine you choose, be sure to follow the instructions on the package carefully and test your hot tub water regularly to ensure it's safe for use. With the right amount of chlorine and proper maintenance, you can enjoy your hot tub for years to come.
